Manage, Share, and Store all your photos in the Cloud with ACDSee SeeDrive. Set up automatic syncing to ACDSee Web from specific folders, organize hierarchically, tag, categorize, share hassle-free, and much more.

I know this is a very specific question and this is probably not the correct place to ask it, but I am not sure where else I could ask. Access your images from anywhere in the world. I wrote file/image management applications before Drupal, ported some to D4, D5, D6, and am looking to start again in D7. I looked for an equivalent based on Drupal for flexibility and found nothing. I always thought that the IPTC metadata would be embedded into the file itself so I would not be locked into a certain app/database, but apparently this is not the case.ĭoes anyone here know digiKam and know how I could import this information from the ACDSee database into digiKam? Or some other way to store these keywords into GIFs and PNGs so that I can use these in digiKam as well? ACDSee, F-spot, Shotwell, DigiKam, and IrfanView all provide some sort of image management from basic to Pro. If I view these GIFs and PNG files in Photoshop I also see that these tags are not there. I think On1 Photo Raw may also have all 3 of these primary functions. All of these programs are a combination of a raw photo processor, non-destructive editor, and simple DAM. I think Darktable and Digikam are fairly similar too, but I havent used them.

Only the keywords that I added to JPEG files are there. Lightroom, ACDSee Pro, and Aftershot Pro are similar programs. However when I view my image library in digiKam I notice that all the IPTC keywords that I added to GIF and PNG files are not there anymore. One of these is ACDsee Pro, for which digiKam seems like a pretty good alternative. I'm considering migrating from Windows to Linux, but before I do that I am trying out some Linux alternatives for my favorite Windows programs.
